Attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADhd)

ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects the brain development and in turn affects how a person process information, focuses, thinks, and behaves. People with ADHD may have difficulty paying attention, sitting still, and controlling impulses, which can affect their daily life at school, work, or home. It is most often diagnosed in childhood, but people can have ADHD as adults too.

ADHD can be classified into three types based on the symptoms a person experiences most:

  1. ADHD, Inattentive Type: This is when a person struggles mostly with paying attention and staying organized. They may frequently make careless mistakes, forget instructions, and have trouble following through on tasks. They might seem like they are not listening or are daydreaming.

  2. ADHD, Hyperactive-Impulsive Type: This type involves a lot of restlessness and impulsive behavior. People with this type may find it hard to sit still, fidget a lot, or speak out of turn. They might also act quickly without thinking, which can cause problems in social situations or at work/school.

  3. ADHD, Combined Type: This type involves both inattention and hyperactive-impulsive behaviors. People with this type of ADHD may show a mixture of both sets of symptoms.
